Well of course he should. Everybody should. Windu, Yoda, Qui-Gon, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Plo Koon, Kit Fist... It'll be like Valhalla for Force Ghosts. It'll be glorious as all the Force Ghosts ride into one final battle against Palpatine. Fuck yeah.VinylGuy wrote:Should't Obi wan make an appearance on ROS??
He spoke to Rey in TFA.

Not a whole lot. They may do one episode of flashback backstory, but it probably won’t be until season 2 if it happens. The rest will just be these little snippets.durdencommatyler wrote:How much of The Mandalorian do you guys expect to be flashbacks?bune wrote:guys, they're filming S2 right now and it's probably going to be there.

My pal just asked a goo question. Was it only one director shot the flashbacks? In sequence? Cos each episode has a different director. And where/what are the flashbacks leading to?

I'm sure all the flashbacks were shot by the same person. Probably the second unit director.dimejinky99 wrote:My pal just asked a goo question. Was it only one director shot the flashbacks? In sequence? Cos each episode has a different director. And where/what are the flashbacks leading to?
And what do you mean what are they leading to? You keep telling us they're leading to the Siege & Kenobi.

I guess you’re right.
I just think it’d be cool if it did lead to one of them. It’s going somewhere for sure. He doesn’t seem a character given to dwelling on the past so it’s obviously setting up to something no?

I think we're trained as modern fans to think everything is a big deal, means something more, or is leading to a twist/reveal. I think it's just as likely that all the flashbacks are doing is showing us how he became a foundling and then further what lead him down his current path.dimejinky99 wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:I'm sure all the flashbacks were shot by the same person. Maybe there's a known, established character in the other side of that door. Or maybe not. Maybe it's just another Mandalorian warrior. Or the armorer. There are tons of possibilities and I love having fun speculating. But I think we're only setting up failure/disappointment if we think it HAS to connect or be building to big canon revel.
It's just a TV show. And a TV show that isn't even legally accessible to large parts of the world/fandom. It's worth remembering that.

I don't want to kill fun speculation, just manage expectations. It could still be Ahsoka or Rex or Kenobi (though I personally think all but Rex is highly unlikely).
You know who else it could be, though, that I haven't seen mentioned? Who else have we seen rescue our leads from a door in the floor?

Re: Star Wars : The Mandalorian (Disney+ 2020)
Pretty sure for this season anyway, the big greater Star Wars universe moment was the baby Yoda. Doubt you'll see a cameo as big as anyone mentioned in any flashback, so either they won't show anything or it will just be a Mandalorian. Also, did I see the flashback wrong? They shut the door then there was an explosion. I took it as the explosion was his parents getting killed. For all we know he crawled out of the hole later and survived on his own for a while.

The door gets opened by a battle droid and it cuts away I think?
