“Let’s not forget the scale of the movie, it’s immense. What you’ve seen in the trailer is nothing compared to the rest.” - J.J. Abrams

Wow. They’ve somehow mashed up duel of the fates and Vader’s theme in this new tv spot.
Dialogue from Palpatine too so don’t play if you don’t want spoiling.

So was it already discussed that Boyega is the one who left the script in the hotel room?

Yeah he was on GMA about it.

He’s so lucky.

But she put it on eBay for £65. Even the dumbest Star Wars fan wouldn’t fall for a listing saying it was a script.

So Palpatine was the endpoint for Lucas had he made the sequel trilogy

Lucas had "enough material for three earlier films and three later films, to make a total of nine, and there were outlined materials certainly for a later three that culminated with this big clash with the Emperor in Episode IX."

He's said in interviews that those ideas were condensed into RotJ. But then he makes up a lot of shit on the fly.

I goes into a LOT more detail on the evolution of the story and characters from the original scripts to the movies. Exceptional book with great research. I’m overdue for a reread. I’ll probably do that after this last movie then go right into the Making of books.
