Well it certainly gets a tick for not falling into the whole - 'You know that movie from your childhood that you absolutely loved? Well get this - we're gonna re-do it, but this time with all female leads! Oh - that movie didn't do it for you? Well how about this other film that you loved, and this time......wait for it.......all female leads!' categorytragabigzanda wrote:I absolutely loved it, but again, that shouldn't really matter. Bridesmaids should be #1, regardless of how you may feel about that movie -- it blew the roof off female-driven comedies as a viable genre.
And how is The Heat not on there? Another one that was hugely popular.
PopStar is awful
I personally would've liked to see 21 Jump Street. And I have yet to see In The Loop, but it's so universally admired that I have trouble believing to doesn't deserve a spot.

Wow, there's not a lot of good '10s comedies.
It would be hard for me to list 10 really good and truly funny ones.

No one really makes $25-$75 million dollar movies anymore. Comedies are just a casualty of the new business model.

Re: Post Random Movie-Related Thoughts You Have
I appreciate that the Wick fights don't usually feel like a dance routine (though I think there are a couple of exceptions) and that they are not horrible shaky cam, so I agree with him there. I also agree that the knife museum fight was amazing and part 2 was the weakest of the bunch.
My main criticism with the movies is the corny world building. I don't care about the secret society of assassins shit at all.

I'd care about it if it made sense but 3 was basically 2.5 and they should have ended on three with him killing the master in the desert. as is they lost sight of what was a promising story. I mean an assassin's guild with QA enforcers? wtf?

I don't know if Richard Jewell is "Clint Eastwood's best film in a decade" or not. But Olivia Wilde is in it. So it will be the first Clint Eastwood film I've seen in a decade.
