Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Marvel movies represent the type of perennial capitalist commodification that should make us all sick. The fact these movies exist and continue to be churned out should unify us all in shared hatred, but it doesn't.

I mostly agree, but they bring my niece and nephew a lot of joy and I'm sure I would have loved them when I was a kid, so I can't really be mad.

Anyway, this is how it's always been. In the 80s they based whole movies / cartoon series off of toys.

This is not how it's always been, you have a child's understanding of the world.

There are plenty of people out there who have seen all the Scorsese movies but there's only one guy who's seen basically every film and is still willing to say that Goosebumps 3D is better than The Pianist.
