Yellow Moon will be wonderful by the way. I can feel that in my tummy.

Ti's kind of sad that you wait 4 years for an album and 2/12 tracks are at least 4 years old. I can understand if they didn't fit onto Backspacer (thematically, tonally, or too over bearing) but the time between releases is disappointing. Ah well.
TBH I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of bands reused material from older albums that never made it - they just don't publicise it.

Springsteen is notorious for it.

So is Neil. Hell, neil even uses old recordings of songs to put on new releases.

This is all I see when B'BOB describes his best song ever on this album.

That's kind of reassuring.

Also the fact that this song 'didn't fit'. So it must be slightly different in tone.

I'm imagining pendulum is like CC now, I'm gonna be super bummed when it sounds nothing like it.
But we have CC anyway, so it's okay.

It's been said before, but the journey that Brendan O'Brien has undertaken from PJ's savior to the spawn of Satan in just a few short years is pretty remarkable.

Yeah and otherwise we just pretend FD never happened and end the album with Yellow Moon.

Yeah, plenty of people do it. Hell, some of PJ's albums in the past ten years may have been better if they did include older songs, instead of relegating them to b-side collections. Personally, I do still think it seems kind of silly to put Sleeping By Myself on there, but oh well, it's not a big deal.

We wouldn't have Brain Of J. and Parting Ways without reusing songs from old sessions. And no Red Mosquito I think.
