I can get a pair of Boston 8s for 50 bucks from the Adidas website but I didn't really like the 8 that much. I still have a lightly used pair of 7s and am probably going to miss a few months with shoulder surgery. I'm thinking it's just time to break up and see other shoes.

It's not over yet! I still have maybe 5 or 6 hundred cumulative miles left in the three pairs of 7s still in rotationMonkey_Driven wrote:You guys had a lovely relationship.verb_to_trust wrote:I can get a pair of Boston 8s for 50 bucks from the Adidas website but I didn't really like the 8 that much. Re: The Running Thread
My foot is still wonky but so much better than it has been. Taking these last couple of months off has been great. I've done two 1 mile treadmill runs at a 9:15 pace this past week. And it felt ... okay. My foot didn't get worse. So, I think I can slowly work real running back in on the reg after the new year.

Re: The Running Thread
Tried our new stationary bike for the second time tonight. I don't know what I'm doing really. I climb for a few minutes and then let my heart settle. Repeat. Wonder how supportive it is for a runner? I suppose it can be a bit like doing repeats yo yoing your heart rate for a half hour or so.

When that happens, do you wipe afterwards or go with the bidet?

Re: The Running Thread
Last few times I've gone for a run for the next few days my knees have been giving me grief. Seeing the surgeon who cut them today, so hopefully he can shed some light on it all. Hope it's a temporary thing

Re: The Running Thread
I was finally able to get out and run in the park this past Sunday. Only three miles but it felt great to be out again. It's been almost four months since I've been out.

Re: The Running Thread
That's crazy.
I'm running myself into the ground until the 27th when I have surgery. Probably be off the road for about two months after that. I've been running pretty much daily with zero regard for overuse injury to get miles in before I go dormant.

Re: The Running Thread
The pain just got too unmanageable for me. I also had two full weeks at the end of Oct/beginning of Nov where I knew I was going to be out of town and not running (or walking) much at all. So that helped.
The heal is still tight. But I've been able to do some treadmill miles and I've been filling in my cardio on the bike. Nothing feels the same as running outside on the street, though. I really miss it. I wish I had your conviction/toughness, verb.
