i bet that frozen birds that were de-thawed like a day prior are fine. Ours was fresh ( ) and sat in the fridge, then brine, for a few days before being cooked. I opened the container last night and it wasn't bad, per se, but it wasn't exactly appetizing.
By the way, how'd it go with your special dinner guest?
Yeah, ours was fresh from a local farmer. Refrigerated for four days then cooked. I had some leftovers last night and they were fantastic.
Everything went well with the "guest." She arrived well after everyone else. I was too busy helping prep to really interact with her too much. Then she left early. So, it was totally fine. I did have another friend (who had never met her) say to me at the end of the night that he really didn't like her and had to keep his mouth shut while she was spouting off about this and that. But whatever.
Everyone had a great time and it was another successful hosting experience. Man! I goddamn LOVE Thanksgiving!

Cost notwithstanding, I will never comprehend why people get a frozen bird. I went fresh in 2006 and never looked back.
I underestimated the number of chips I'd need vs. the amount of crab dip I put in my bowl. Now, I have one small chip left with a heaping amount of dip. Do I:
scoop it all on to one chip for one gluttonous bite?
