Statistically speaking, this is one of the most susceptible groups to misinformation that has ever been studied. On average they know much less about American current events or political figures than anybody else, including citizens of some European countries. They are far more likely to be the victims of online scams than any voting group, and half of them rank themselves as at least a little skeptical about the theory of evolution.
Really, a desire to make this a politically engage-able group is the best argument I’ve ever heard for breaking up Facebook.

Seriously though I think it’s a bit misguided to think it’s the same people sitting out every election. New voters enter the pool, old voters die, others sit out due to lack of enthusiasm for the candidates, etc.
Attracting younger voters is I think the sweet spot.

I agree that engaging young voters is crucial. I think the lesson of 2018 was that young people, women, suburban voters, and people of color are irreplaceable voting groups. If they show up at 2018 levels, Republicans can’t beat their numbers any more than they can successfully appeal to their desires. If those groups don’t show up, Democrats lose. Hard stop.
So we should probably talk about what those groups want

that guy has an optical cable running up his ass from his big data polling lab
tells him who to appeal to that day based on a complex algorithm that detects what stupid people want to hear and then he tells them that

also has settings for Pancake House, Cracker Barrel, County Fair, Late Night Show, and Koch Brother's Lair

White, young 2018 voters listed their top motivating issues as undoing Trump administration immigration policies, protecting Roe v. Wade, overturning tax breaks for the rich, and gun control.
Young people of color listed racism, immigration and income inequality.
Women who voted in 2018 listed expanding healthcare as their top issue. Second was opposition to current immigration policies, and third was expanding gun control laws.
Non-White voters 35+ listed affordable health care, college affordability, and creating more jobs with benefits.

i think all it takes is a candidate that projects confidence and leadership that has charisma and is a reasonably-good orator, and lots of money, and you can win with a moderate message and unite the legislature
plenty of dough to go around
at this point plenty of big corporations want healthcare reform too, they are tired of paying stadium pricing for their employees' health care plans
and they want student load debt to subside bc it leaches from consumers' ability to spend and borrow elsewhere in the economy
so that's two right there and the incentives are there just takes someone to get everyone together and donate enough to Mitch McConnell's wife's charity and we're all on the same page

Explain to me how my day-to-day life will be any different if someone other than Trump wins the election. Aside from, of course, being inundated with media coverage about the president acting like an ass.
You're a white middle to upper class man with a professional career living in a major urban area at the outset of middle age, having already had children. It's going to take decades before your day to day life changes.
