Or in (I haven't opened it today, but I assume it's in there) the Star Wars book thread?

American sees what huge assholes and arrogant pricks the left is.
And Trump is a saint? I'd like any Trump supporter here to defend him being an overt racist and sexist, please. And then tell me how it is good for someone with those morals to be president? And don't come in here saying anything about Biden, because I agree, he is sexist and probably racist too, and I hate him and don't think he should be president for those reasons alone.

I have to say that I like that we have someone like PHATJ around to fill the hole that LittleWing left. Things get boring and unchallenging when everyone just agrees with each other all the time. I would like to see more discussion of the issues and less of politics and politicians, and as always that goes for everyone, not just PHATJ.

Man, how do you think LW feels about Trump?

I thought about this before:

The next question is whether 2016 LittleWing would agree with 2006 LittleWing, especially when the major opponent is Hillary Clinton.

Thank you for being such extremists and such huge assholes about it. You are helping us MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Thank you! :heartbeat:
If you really believed all this stuff, you wouldn't tell it to the left. It's such a naked bluff, no one buys it.

"Impeachment is great for the republicans and therefore America ... which is why republicans have tried/will try to stop it each step of the way." It's so transparently bogus.

Yeah, that's the real question. I don't think he'd be a fan of Trump's foreign policy either. My guess is that he liked Ted Cruz in the primaries and may not have voted for Trump (assuming he's still in NY and that his vote wouldn't matter anyway) in the general so that he could claim high ground as a non-Trump voter while defending 95% of everything Trump has done since taking office.

I didn’t agree with LW a majority of the time but let’s be honest, he wasn’t just your run-of-the-mill Trump troll like PHATJ is.

His demographic profile fits a lot of the typical Trumpist characteristics, but there's enough of his posting to suggest he's not a perfect fit. It's fascinating to ponder, and we likely will never know the answer.

I would also love to know, out of pure curiosity and wanting to understand a veteran's perspective, what he thinks about the soldier pardons.

I'd like to hear PHATJ flesh out his worldview a bit. He gave plenty of planks in his last megapost, but I'd like to learn why he supports those planks.

Well I'm not LW, but I'm a veteran. And I disagree with it based on the fact that the military justice system is judged/sentenced by people in the military. Any appeals or pardons should have to come from someone in the military. While I know some would say the president is the commander in chief, not all presidents have served to have that perspective.

That being said, I've only skimmed the surface of this case, so there may be important details I'm missing to form a better opinion. I'll read up on it more over the next couple of days

Ditto that, McP. saw a picture this morning of two soldiers saluting Trump while he meets with some of the pardoned people. I couldn't help but think how badly it must burn to have to do that but they do because it's what's expected of them.

But man, when they get home.

Do you think this is a broad consensus in the military that's able to transcend ideology? And if so, do you think this could hurt Trump among a demographic that is one of his stronger ones?

I think that upper ranks of the military are fed up with him. Especially after the secretary of the Navy debacle that went down with all of this. But I think the enlisted majority tend to be more conservative in their beliefs due to gun control, religion, etc. So that demographic won't leave him

Thanks. My knowledge of military life is slim to none so I usually need to listen much more than talk.
