This was the first album I ever got the day it was released. While many of my friends hated this album, I was immediately drawn to it and that never wore off. Everything from the artwork to the music itself sparked my attention and still does to this day.

Vitalogy was the first album I brought as a vinyl.

It was two weeks before the CD release or something and it was in a Music store in vinyl format.

One of the best albums without doubt. In the scheme of what was going on with the band. It’s amazing the quality they were able to produce back then.

The Self Pollution performances are still mind blowing

I kinda hated Vitalogy when it came out. I was so in love with Vs i didnt understand what happened....are they punk now? Where is McCready? Songs like Spin or Tremor Christ...it was weird at the time.

I kinda felt they were trying to be as punk and hardcore and i wanted groove.

i heard from some people on the inside that Ed tried to change the Not For You lyric from "seats just two" to "seats just four" for the Vitalogy reissue

I loved Vitalogy from drop, but when the Who You Are single dropped and I confidently played it for a room of people without checking first, I was pretty much baffled.

If I had known then what I know now.

was there - at one point - a rough mix of vitalogy circulating?

I’m not asking for a copy. I just wanted to be sure. Feels like there was.

My relationship with Vitalogy -- especially early on -- is complex. It's all association and sense memory stuff. But once I was able to let go of the shit unfairly associated with the record, I've loved it ever since.

Now it's my second favorite album of all time by any artist.

I mean, it's my favorite. But Vs. and binaural have crept closer over the years.

I don't want to have to come up with another username though, so I guess it will always stay my favorite

I actually didn't expect anybody to know who that was when I thought of it as a username. What did surprise me is how many people don't look it up therefore they don't know it's Pearl Jam related.

I mean, I googled trag for crying out loud, you lazy bastards
