This album is going to have several really good songs.

I'm getting this good vibe that BS and Ole was a phase or just a one off and not the direction the band was going in. I'll have to hear LB before I know, obviously, but if that's the case and this sounds nothing like its predecessor, it will make me appreciate BS even more.

I think it's very possible that Lightning Bolt and Future Days will be, in general, two of the least-liked songs on the album. I think they'll be least representative of the mood as a whole. I think this album will feel a lot like Binaural, with a dash of Riot Act tossed in, and that this will be a very good recipe indeed.

I couldn't agree more with Martin, that's definitely how I felt too. Well, except that I thought from the start that I might like this album better than Backspacer

Sirens & Getaway are very catchy. At least those are the 2 songs that are stuck in my head today. It's funny, yesterday I couldn't remember the melodies anymore but this morning they were back in my head. Chris could play a few chords of sirens on guitar, he might make a little video clip today

And it is really sooo hard, because now that I know the songs I want to listen to them even more, but it's only 38 days if I counted correctly.

The London soundcheck is Infallible, we recognized it straight away today, there is a special melody at the end of the verses or something like that that Chris wrote down & the rhythm is really quite unique to the other songs on the record.

Pendulum might also be one of my favorites, as is Sirens. I want to hear those damn songs again!!! Hopefully they'll leak soon
I wrote that Bleeding Muddy Water by Lanegan reminded me of the song Yellow Moon, I can't describe why, it's moody too. I just had this Lanegan song stuck in my head the whole time while Yellow Moon played, I guess that there might be a similar melody.

Those, mixed with a little yield and a bit of Backspacer polish. This sounds really light, dark, straightforward, strange, slow, fast. Eclectic. I'm hoping for that, it seems like the best scenario for a rock band with a pop producer. If BO'B needs this record to have some pop in it, throw some darkness in and have loads of sounds disagreeing and clashing.

As far as Wrigley, I guess if you're going to premier new songs in front of mix of hardcore, middle of the road and neutral fans, LB and FD might make more sense than some of the moodier songs that people are referring to.

So through no fault of the band, we got a weird taste in our mouth for LB almost immediately.

i.e. a logical extension of Backspacer. I think its going to be very difficult for them to escape that mold of tighter songwriting - and letting the songs breathe more. I speculate, at least, they've tried to do a bit of that with this album. But, the similarities will still be quite noticeable.

So, what I'm also hoping with this album, is that it will change the dynamic of the live show. If it is a little bit heavier/moodier than backspacer then perhaps songs from Binaural and Riot Act will find easier placement in the setlist.

I can see how the mood of Backspacer dictated how those shows/tours were. Fitting in with the whole light hearted celebratory vibe the band was going for....

I think Matt Cameron is an OK drummer, who's style is not well suited for PJ.

As for a songwriter, just my opinion, but I think he's absolute garbage. By far the worst in the band. That said, he came up with one great tune: Cropduster. I'll give him credit for that.

The songs he's written (solo) outside of that all blow - Evacuation, You Are, Get Right and In the Moonlight.

I'll give him a bit of credit for his parts in Unemployable, Save You, and Johnny Guitar.... and even The Fixer is also mediocre (musically, lyrics suck). But, who knows how involved he was in each. To me, I feel like I know exactly what he contributed. I can hear it.

You can tell immediately when it's a Matt Cameron song (or if he was involved in writing) because it's schizophrenic rhythmically on guitar. In my opinion Evacuation describes his writing style. It's all over the place. I kinda wish he never joined PJ. I think they'd be a better band.
