Mom is old now and sick and baby is grown and taking care of mom says same sentiment back to elderly mother while holding her.

To be clear, it's a great book. I just hate how my mother has ruined it by weaponizing it.

It's the book. Don't know why I grabbed that image. Looks cool.
I need to read it again. first time was early 00s so it was insane seeing how many pop culture references I was pulling from it that were stolen for movies and tv and other books.

is there a consensus on the sequels? i.e. yay or nay.
Any Gibson is worth reading, but the sequels to this one aren't my favorites. The novels in the Bridge Trilogy (Virtual Light, Idoru, All Tomorrow's Parties) that came after the Sprawl Trilogy are better all around, though Pattern Recognition is best of all.

I need to read his recent stuff. :?

I know you technically asked burt, but what the hell. I really like William Gibson and I'll take any opportunity on the board to post about him.

Any of you ding-dongs read A Visit From the Goon Squad?

I'm finally getting around to it and I'm really digging it. Would love to chat about some things if anyone's up for it.

It's an Icelandic holiday/tradition on which one gifts a book to someone on Christmas Eve.

I can sort of translate that to Norwegian. But never heard of it before. Good idea though.
