This is a retarded statement because it means the same thing.
No it doesn't. Any drummer could join Pearl Jam and they'd still be missing Dave A and Jack's presence. It's not uniquely Matt's fault. Dave and Jack had real directive personalities and took the band to some very interesting rhythmic places. Matt, in my opinion, is a follower. He does what suits the song in his mind, and he's happy to blend as part of a band rather than a prominent 'fuel', which can sometimes work very well, but sometimes not.

Yeh, I would have preferred to take my chances with "any drummer". That's my point. I think Matt is the worst drummer in the band's history. Sales support this theory.
Declining sales also support the theory that all music is shit.

Matt's songwriting gets the band out of their comfort zone in the best way possible. Evacuation, In The Moonlight and Cropduster are just wonderful pieces of music. Eddie always comes up with really interesting vocal melodies in Matts songs.

If that's not unnecessarily confrontational, I really don't know what is.
Here's what sounds unneccesarily confrontational: "go away".
You'll live. I could've been ruder about it. I want you to stop assuming I'm being negative about the new album based on zero evidence. Or if you can't do that, yes, go away. Please.
how about U stop being a dickhead?
Jesus christ people seriously calm the fuck down please...

And a million other reasons I could make up on the spot based on what I'd be calling 'evidence'.

Have you got a poster appreciation thread in GD yet? If not, I should probably write you one at some point, although it seems a big step and I'm not sure I have the authority.

Eh. Unless you are on the inside, we here have no knowledge of what the material that Matt brought to the table actually sounded like before 'da fixin'. Except for "you are" which was cool.

Which of these songs got 'fixed'? And how do you know 'You Are' didn't?

Well, if you're thinking like this we can never praise a songwriter in the band.

Actually it looks like someone's just posted a link to the other thread. Still, it looks like this thread will have Amsterdam reviews in it soon.
