Matt's songwriting gets the band out of their comfort zone in the best way possible. Evacuation, In The Moonlight and Cropduster are just wonderful pieces of music. Eddie always comes up with really interesting vocal melodies in Matts songs.

I would bet heavy money if you went to every PJ fan out there and asked them to rank songs, evacuation AND in the moonlight would appear towards the bottom. I wouldn't be surprised if evacuation was in the bottom five songs. It may be dead last for me. It's terrible.

I would never ever argue that the heavy majority of PJ likes these songs. I'm just speaking from my point of view and I couldn't care less about the majority of Pearl Jam fans. Most of them probably don't think Evacuation and Cropduster are wonderful, I agree. I still think they are.
