And to continue, it felt like JJ had to say "well shit, that asshole Rian killed Snoke, so now I need a bad guy. Fuck it, let's just bring back Palpatine, I can't think of someone better.

Other than that, decent movie. The pace was a little jarring, but better than TLJ

hah yes yes there are always more bodies. More star destroyers. more returning characters. Because none of this matters and its all very stupid, but hey, a line of dialogue explains it all away, right? ItS IN the mOvIe

Well, it happened, but Vader really sacrificed himself to just save his son and not kill his master. Though he tried!E.H. Ruddock wrote:Imagine after 36 years, going back to one of the greatest trilogies of our time and saying "jk, that ending didn't really happen"

They definitely could have gone to less places. Everything that happened in the desert could have been done on zorys (err whatever) planet. Let the tension and journey build there.durdencommatyler wrote:Yeah, that's fair.
I will say I didn't find the pace as dizzying as you did. Still, yours is a valid criticism.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
But don't you think it's the action itself that is the redemption and not the result? Siding with Luke and taking the action to (even potentially) kill the Emperor is the same. He turned. He took action. He THOUGHT he killed him. The intent matters. What was in his heart/mind matters here. Whatever the ultimate result.E.H. Ruddock wrote:Oh come on. I think the pace felt a little hectic the first time, but not today. Now the pace reminded me of The Force Awakens.
