I hope this is where I stand after watching it again.

Tatooine moisture farm?
If that is the case it wasn’t that mind melting.
Kevin didn't see it. He was told not to look because it would melt his mind. JJ has since said Kevin should have seen it because "he could've handled it."

I do think it was the moisture farm but that's just me supposing.
My money is on the throne room.

Kevin is doing his spoiler review event tomorrow in Hollywood. He’ll probably get into it.

Spoiler: show
My biggest beef is that it's yet another JJ Abrams retread of another movie. This time, of course, its ROTJ. And why wouldn't it be, right? I've decided the man may have original thoughts, but no original stories.

Things I liked:
- Palpatine. I thought he was used very well. Know how Lucas intended to end his 12-movie series with him, this made sense.
- the Sith temple. Cool stuff
- Harrison Ford. I was actually surprised!
- Ben Ren's redemption. I don't like he was redeemed, but HOW it was done was fantastic. I'm glad he died
- the Jedi voices. Fucking awesome
- the fact Rey is a Palpatine
- the last scene. Very emotional
- Rey using force lightning.

Things I did not like:
- Finn. Useless character. Nothing in any of these movies makes you care one whit for whether he lives or dies. As mentioned above, REEEEY!!
- Poe. Terrible character. We're supposed to believe he's the general that leads the Rebellion to victory? God, I wish he had died.
- Along with Finn and Rey, these three characters had absolutely ZERO of the chemistry Luke, Leila and Han had. Just terrible. They should've found away to tell her story without trying to copy the "big three" of the first trilogy. Lightning in a bottle, man...
All in all, I enjoyed it. I'll need to see it again to really decide how well I liked it, but the pluses outweigh the minuses for now. It did feel like a new beginning at the end and made me want to see more of this character that has come out the other side (with a bitchin' new lightsaber!) a new, and whole person. Too bad it's the end of the Skywalker Saga.

Until Disney needs a good bail out...

Kinda agree with everything.

Yea this might be my biggest bother and really the only retread from last Jedi. Her and Finns relationship was kind of an important aspect of the story. She was a hero in the last one and this one they were mostly strangers. Weak abrams. Weak.

Oh, one more thought.
Spoiler: show
I came out of it feeling really bad for Chewbacca. Absolutely none of his old family or friends are still alive. Outside of Lando and Rey, who I guess maybe he has a bond with thru the ones she built with Han and Leia, he has absolutely no one left. Oh, but he finally got a medal. Big deal. Like that’s supposed to make up for the fact he’s lost everyone in the last couple of years. Or however much time takes place thru this trilogy.

To be honest, i was glad she got cut. I didnt cared for her on the last one, and i was interested on Rey and palps on this one. But it was funny to see her so fucking little. And yeah, Finn should have been cut too.

REEEEYYYYYY REEEEYYYYY

Hilarious moment when she uses the force on him. FUCK OFF YOU CREEP, GET KILLED OR SOMETHING.

I wasn't too bothered with how Rose was used in the movie. But I would have liked one more scene or interaction between Rose and Finn that gave more information about where they're at now regarding each other.

There's enough there to piece something together that makes sense. But just a bit more, one little moment, would have gone a long way toward smoothing this over. As it stands I totally get why people have issues with it.

Its also funny to see C3PO pretend that all these abusive strangers are his friends.
Spoiler: show
Was that supposed to be a tearjerk moment when he deleted his memory? They even deflate the scene further by spoiling the fact that R2 can just give him his memory back in the same scene.

The only emotional gut punch is when Chewy gets back and they tell him about Leia.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

That was a big one, yeah. Far from the only one for me, but definitely one of the biggest. The cynical part of me did thing that maybe it was a TAD overdone as a reaction/response to the "no huge" in TFA.
