If they can get together long enough for a tour, and that time trumps getting together in the studio, they sure as hell better have a new album. If not, I guess this tour will financially support more studio time.

I guess I'm alone here, but I'd much rather see them with no album to support.

I'll hang in the upper level somewhere and have a good time......it worked for springsteen. GA is going to be a mess that I will be happy to avoid.

I'm with you here. Doc and I had this conversation the other night. I like the idea of all existing songs having a chance to make an appearance on the setlist. Plus, I haven't liked anything after Binaural anyway. I don't care about new material
I hate to say I love you,

if they're gonna introduce a new song for the first time, i can't imagine them (or Ed) not thinking Wrigley would be the place to do it

This was my feeling going into PJ20.....(Ed's acoustic by numbers throwaway song doesn't count)

What are the odds of cover of "Blue Red Grey" with Cubs references thrown in?

Ed used to play it in presets, so maybe he will do it

Would always prefer a focus on new material with a smattering of old favourites.

You know, like a real band.

I'd probably feel that way if I had any confidence that I'd really want to hear whatever they put out out next.

I wouldn't mind if everything before Vitalogy and after Binaural was skipped (except for Oceans, dammit I need to hear that one live even if Ed cannot pull it off anymore), but I don't want to get overly excited. They have done some decidedly un-epic "epic shows" over the last few years.

the problem w/ "epic shows" is that they kinda have a blueprint now. people pretty much expect what they are going to hear in an encore of an "epic show".

i think the most "epic" thing they've done since probably 2005 is playing a song w/ jay z. and not just b/c i was there, b/c it was awesome and unexpected.
