Yeah, I feel you, man. I think you're a smart dude -- even when you give me shit for my perspectives -- I just don't think it's a bad arc. We disagree on a lot and you've helped me realize a lot about how I see things. So that isn't a bad thing. I just saw the movie again and felt his role was even stronger than on first view. So I wanted to defend it. Not at your expense -- what the fuck do I know about anything? -- just because I found it valuable and worth defending.
We don't all have the emotional depth to weep at the sight of filmmakers answering an internet meme by having a minor character (who has done nothing but spout exposition for two movies) give the wookie a shiny piece of metal.

-Maz...JJ really liked this one i guess...it makes sense to see her with the Rebellion, but still...I wonder what Lupita thinks about the screen time her character had since TFA.
-Man, Harrison Ford is such a star. He really pushes the movie into a whole new level with his scene with Driver. Damn.
As far as the KoR go... you're barking up the wrong tree. I'm not here to defend them. To me they were barely set up in the first place so I don't have an issue with how they were used. I explained this already -- though I'm not surprised you didn't read those posts. It seems like you don't read most of my posts. Which I respect as someone who doesn't read most of yours either. Maybe that's our common ground?

Dominic Managhan was distracting to see sure. But i prefer him than Maz or Rose. Thats how much i loved those characters.

Were the KoR ever mentioned by name in these movies? Cuz if not I don't really have a problem with them here. I don't care about extended universe stuff, so as far as I'm concerned they are just slightly tougher storm trooper bodyguards that exist to get killed by one of the heroes. It's just funny that they were built up online as something major.
Dude, no! I though Russell was outstanding. She's one of the highlights of the film. A character that I think is memorable and impactful. She's great. She's the Boba Fett of this trilogy. I can't wait for the books/comics/etc coming out about her.
