I caught gravity wells, probably because I used to play the Star Wars RPG from late 80s/early 90s and they had star destroyers that created gravity wells.dimejinky99 wrote:Gravity wells?durdencommatyler wrote:That's a pretty reliable source, no? BTW, dime, have gravity wells been mentioned in any other movie besides Solo prior to TROS?
It really stood out to me on the second view as a Solo reference. But maybe that's a recency thing?
I didn’t even catch it tbh?
I can’t recall them being mentioned before. Possibly in animated?
Didn’t that ship thrawn has that pulls ships out of hyperspace have something or mention of them?
My heads all over the place this week I can’t remember sorry man

I’d say we’re getting that story in some form though.
Project luminous is nearly upon us and they have all kinds of stuff in store.
Is what it is

Yeah, totally valid criticism for sure. I personally didn't hate that he came back but I do wish it had been handled a bit better.Strat wrote:The whole palp thing and bringing him back is why I can totally understand the hatred for this movie and JJ.dimejinky99 wrote:It’s never ever come up as far as I know. I think it's just her joking with the droid. Why does every piece of dialog have to mean something.dimejinky99 wrote:In tfa she says to bb8 ‘me too. Big secret.’
I wonder has she always known
Long said her parents hid her to protect her but they maybe they were in the first order and protecting her from Snoke.
Wasn’t far off the mark.

Oh cool. I'm not a big gamer so I never saw any of that. Wonder then if the Kasdans put it in Solo as a reference to those games.blueviper wrote:I caught gravity wells, probably because I used to play the Star Wars RPG from late 80s/early 90s and they had star destroyers that created gravity wells.dimejinky99 wrote:Gravity wells?durdencommatyler wrote:That's a pretty reliable source, no? “I’d say [the film’s critics are] right. The people who love it more than anything are also right. We knew going in—I was asked just seven hours ago, ‘So how do you go about pleasing everyone?’ and I was like ‘What?’ Not to say that that should be what anyone tries to do anyway, but how would one even go about it? Especially with Star Wars.”
“We live in a moment where everything seems to immediately default to outrage, and there’s an M.O. of it’s either exactly as I see it or you’re my enemy… But it’s a crazy thing that there is such a norm that seems to be devoid of nuance and compassion—this is not about Star Wars, this is about everything—and acceptance. It’s a crazy moment, so we knew starting this, any decision we made—a design decision, a musical decision, a narrative decision—would please someone and infuriate someone else.”

I suspect it’s not canon anymore, but Sly Moore certainly is:durdencommatyler wrote:But not an official canon story? Don’t think spoilers are needed anymore. Surely if you enter the thread now it’s at your own risk.
Yes, Ben is dead. No doubt about that.
