Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
Another cool thing I noticed the second time around... Rey throws wood/branches from the Force tree (on Ahch-To) into the TIE-Fighter wreckage/fire.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
I'm looking forward to more clarification/discussion about who knew what and when. I know Luke says Leia knew. But WHEN did Leia know? When did Luke know? When Finn says that he knows and Leia does too, is the reveal the thing he's talking about? Or something else?
So much to think/talk about.

Fun! Wonder if it's intentional or just a happy accident:

I’ve really no interest in how the sausage is made on that level. And coming from reddit?
I wouldn’t believe a word written from that shithole

The rise of skywalker, is that for ray becoming a skywalker, or the redemption of ben, or kinda both?

I think it works however you want to interpret it. For me, it's Rey. But I think it works on many levels and I'm here for all of them.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:The rise of skywalker, is that for ray becoming a skywalker, or the redemption of ben, or kinda both?

The more I think about the last two movies the messier the plot becomes. I should stop.

Very cleverly done though. Exactly as return of the Jedi was.
Does it reference Luke bringing back the Jedi? Or the return of Anakin Skywalker to restore balance?
It’s the later but the ambiguity in the rise of skywalker echoes it soundly

This saga lost “it” several sequels ago. It’s amazing just how far those first 3 movies (first 2?) have carried this thing.
The 3rd movie in this latest trilogy is more of the same. Likeable characters in an interesting world performing cool tricks and heroic acts, but without any real consequences.
I enjoyed it fine, and there were some standout moments, but just like 7 and 8, I doubt I seek out the time to rewatch 9 very soon if ever. I’ll grab one of the OT every time.
Also, If you’re taking this too seriously or getting worked up about it, you maybe need to take a breather.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
I've rewatched TFA and TLJ over the past couple of days. TFA was a bit better than I remember and TLJ has cemented itself as my favorite Star Wars movie. Regardless, what's clear across all three movies is Daisy Ridley's a superstar and I'd pay to see her play just about anyone.
Ultimately, I'm guessing they're done with the Skywalker story but it'd be a damn shame not to continue Rey's adventures in some form. Too good a character and performance to leave it at Rise.
And I'd kill to see a Rise of Kylo Ren series on Disney+.

This video review raises a lot of good points about the cowardly ways in which TROS backtracked some of TLJ's choices.
I don't agree with everything he says but I like his arguments

Nailed it ensign.
She’s born to play that character. And her tension and chemistry with Adam driver over the whole trilogy but especially here in this new one. Just astounding. Another actress would be completely wilted and intimidated by him.
I cannot wait to sit and watch these films back to back all three. They speak to each other in the best ways.
