I don't know if it was the best show ever in person or the best setlist (probably not) but this definitely is one of the best bootlegs ever! They always brought it when they were on the road with Sonic Youth:)
Is that the show they said at one time was one of the best shows they ever played?
Yes & it's really good and does have a reputation of being one of the all time greats.
I've yet to hear it all the way through; only pieces when it's been on the Sirius channel.

Stone mentioned it, yeah...performancewise it's definitely up there with the best.

While Mike was playing the outro to YL, Matt and Jeff gave each other the biggest bear hugs, like they had just won the world series. They were all locked in that night.
Just listened to the Sacramento and San Bernardino 2000 shows this week. Man, I wish i could have attended these shows. Such odd setlists, the first night is really good, the band sounds tired the second night, but the slower song really are done well. You'll never see them do shows like this again sadly.
Haven't listened to any PJ in ages, thought I'd jump back in. Started with Melbourne '98. Pretty good tunes to match a Friday afternoon in the office by myself.
Gonna have to pull out SFIII '06 now with all the hype above!
West Coast 2006 is god-tier. Vegas 2006 is a show I probably could have gone to but didn't, and it haunts me. I listen to it regularly - it's not the best, but I generally listen to the rest of the tour from there like once a year. That loop has some really, really good shows. Matt is turned way up in the mix because Ed has a scratchy throat, and it's a nice change of pace.

hahah that was me!
