Honestly i think the biggest issue people will have with SBM is that it was on eds solo album prior....

The whole idea was that everyone should like it, right? That was supposed to bring new fans in, blah-blah-blah.stupidmop wrote:Strat wrote:: Listening party Amsterdam 09/04/2013

He teaches at Old Town School of Folk Music here in Chicago, which is pretty famous for some of the artists affiliated with the school. Jeff Tweedy plays an ensemble every year with a bunch of musicians, and Bob Mould usually does a thing or two a year with it. About 10 years ago, he got named head of percussion curriculum for the school, and now does private lessions. http://www.oldtownschool.org/teachers/David-Sims/ My 5-year-old loves him. Will's introduced him to Sigur Ros!harmless wrote:All of my drum teachers made good money out of session musicianship, for both small-time and professional bands and artists. They taught on the side. Not me.. I just don't really dig the song overallStrat wrote:harmless wrote:I'm looking forward to hearing why. I mean, I don't see how bad it can get. But I said that before SoS happened.

I would have picked 8-9 different songs from the uke album over that one

That is a big issue, especially considering this one sounds like its mostly the same, only worse. Its a total waste of space.Strat wrote:harmless wrote:I'm looking forward to hearing why. I mean, I don't see how bad it can get. But I said that before SoS happened.

I love the song, even if I would've picked another one for PJ. I'm looking forward to it. But damn it, someone needs to tell me whether it has fiddle and slide guitar and maybe even a mandolin. If so, I'm pretty much sold.bodysnatcher wrote:Not me.. I just don't really dig the song overallStrat wrote:harmless wrote:I'm looking forward to hearing why. I mean, I don't see how bad it can get. There's no band version of that song, right?Lounge Lizard wrote:whatharmless wrote:

It has all of the above, and some hand claps.harmless wrote: But damn it, someone needs to tell me whether it has fiddle and slide guitar and maybe even a mandolin.
It's slightly frustrating that a lot of people hate it but nobody can articulate why so far. "Because it's on Uke Songs and something better could've replaced it" isn't really a great review of what it actually sounds like.stupidmop wrote:The SbM thing has turned more funny than annoying, what with the ( so far ) unanimous disdain.
I'll wait to hear it to be properly annoyed. You just know whatever they bumped for it was the best song from the session or something.
