Texas is one of the only states I've ever driven in where people actually move out of your way if they're going slower than you. Like, they'll even pull over to the shoulder to let you pass. It's heavenly!

Most drivers on Texas freeways respect the fast lane. You should only hop on it to pass, unless you plan on cruising for a few hours going 85. On a two-lane highway, moving on to the shoulder if someone is riding your ass is the courteous thing to do, but not everyone does that. I guess it depends on context.

I did not experience the same thing when walking on New York City sidewalks, unfortunately. I felt like a running back sprinting from 34th to Eugene O'Neill to catch a showtime. Had we not been in such a rush I would have realized that going straight up 7th Avenue took us through Times Square. I wanted to go full R2D on people and push them into a proverbial canal. The only reason I didn't was because I knew I was the one who made the navigational mistake. Still, there should be a sidewalk "fast lane."

Yeah NYC is fucking insane with traffic patterns. Everyone here is selfish. Everyone here is offensive. No one gives a shit and they act like there's no one else walking around near them.

I can kind of understand (to a degree) the not keeping all the way to right thing. But ONLY because of the largely immigrant population from places where you keep left instead. But, that only goes so far. Mostly, it's just people being assholes on purpose. People LOVE making other people move. It's a fucking entitlement thing and I've learned to try not to fight it.

went to galit a couple weeks ago - a middle eastern place in the neighborhood getting a lot of praise - and it was top notch. sat at the counter at the left end pictured, with the best view of the grill. just delicious piece of meat after meat over the coals. *drools*

Image

i made a reservation towards the end of the meal to ensure we get back soon.

I'm just referring to Mexican seafood restaurants, which generally have names likes "Mariscos #3" and specialize in things like Reid posted above. Never really patronized many of them.

The bars are always really good at places like that. Definitely a situation where you want to pull up a stool and order there versus table service.

Yeah don’t sleep on mariscos style restaurants. We go to this one; the Nayarit prawns are really something.

I've been wanting to see the inside of this place since we moved to this side of town back in June. We sat in the booth beside that little cut out you see on the brick wall. A real chef's eye view of the cafeteria line.
