Perhaps that Beatles thread blows up starting Monday. I have to admit though out the gate the Stones have the edge for me because they basically played the exact kind of music I like to listen to.

might've been discussed, but whats the best stones book?

Whatever comes closest to Neil Young's Shakey would be ideal. If that's possible.

I haven’t read them, but I was thinking of reading this one myself.

I peeped some reviews. I don't know how much credibility the author has.

Yep. I enjoyed it and it's pretty chronological in terms of band history.

Right on. I received Waging Heavy Peace for x-mas and it came super beat up, cover smashed and dented. I figure nothing will touch Shakey, so I was going to trade that in for a Stones book. They've quickly become probably my favorite band ever. I should've listened to my dad years ago. Haha.

Just heard it on the radio. I dig it! Well done and now intrigued to hear that they have more new tunes in the hopper.

Yeah, the new song is pretty good. Sounds like something from the 70s from them.

I like it a lot. I said this in another thread but they are in a great space right now between this and Blue and Lonesome. I hope more music comes out soon.

I've seen em twice

steel wheels tour - blind melon opened up (BM sucked)

three rivers stadium - nothing like seeing a 70 foot screen playing 1940's and 50s porn on it. was very far away but you could see the energy mick brought to each song. was 1989 and it was basically a set of classic stones with some of the newer songs sprinkled in. they knew what the people where there for. sympathy for the devil, honky tonk (porn interlude) and harlem shuffle (severely underrated) stood out for me

bridges to babylon - some unknown band opened for them, cant remember their name

pnc park - tickets were a little steep at about $150 and we took what we could get (made the purchase before we found out the opening act) again played a lot of the classics with a few newer songs on it. 2005. 16 years later and mick hadnt lost a step. was nice to see him and eddie trade vocals on wild horses

if you get the chance while it is likely to be expensive i highly recommend it

The sound of Charlie's kit on the new track is aces, especially the kick.

Real Tattoo You vibe...Love it
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Speaking of Tattoo You. Start Me Up is incredible. The bass line groove with Mick's perfect vocal. Dirty lyrics. I always listen to it more than once.
