The scene with Ford....is perfect. The movie relaxes, we see two characters actually bonding and two amazing actors doing stellar work. Its so well written...Solo saying goodbye with his ¨i know¨ is just...so good.
Amazing scene.

The general consensus from those I've talked to have been positive, but most did not like the kiss/abundance of force healing/fast pace at the beginning.Anders wrote:Everyone I’ve talked to about the movie has loved it. Different ages from 10 to 71, both men and women. Also big smiles around the room both times in the cinema.

Nah I’m not interested in after the fact interviews. They often sound like making excuses
Not at all. It’s refreshingly honest and an understandable view for him. They could have easily split it into episode 9&10.
No big deal that they didn’t

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
It was an interesting interview in that he basically described how Palpatine was brought back due to the lack of Snoke specificially for the ninth episode, though the questioner gave him a chance to backtrack in the next question.VinylGuy wrote:Dime have you read Terrio about wanting a vol 1 and vol 2 release? kinda my feeling after watching ROS and thinking we lost 2 hours and half with TLJ.
"We felt that right from the beginning, when J.J. established Kylo Ren in Episode VII, there was a war going on inside him and that he had been corrupted by something bigger than himself and had made bad choices along the way. J.J. and I felt we needed to find a way in which he could be redeemed, and that gets tricky at the end of Episode VIII because Snoke is gone. The biggest bad guy in the galaxy at that moment seemingly is Kylo Ren. There needed to be an antagonist that the good guys could be fighting, and that’s when we really tried to laser in on who had been the great source of evil behind all of this for so long."

I think the movie needs a few things explained in the previous one. Palps return and Rey´s linage for sure...that would have been the ending of ep 8 for me.

Team Tragtragabigzanda wrote:If instead of saying “chewie’s dead!”, just say “chewie’s been kidnapped.” Send Finn and Lando on a rescue mission to give them something meaningful to do, and have chewie be integral to the final battle. Much less running around that way, and it strengthens some characters who were used pretty poorly.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
What would have done:
- Get Luke´s return in TFA, with Han coming for him. Luke is with Rey when Kylo kill Han. At the end of that movie he decides to train Rey in the island.
- In TLJ we discover about Rey´s linage and Palps return...maybe at the end of the movie (it also mirros Empire! Poetry). Give more insight to how Palps return.
- ROS is about Rey´s trying not to fall for the dark side. And about Kylo finally coming to light. Rey kills the emperor and become the baddie and Ben reedems himself when he kills her and brings back Rey. (Also mirros ROTJ). The end of the movie is Rey alone, not in tattoine but in the Jedi Island with Luke trying to setup a new academy.

I like this girl a lot, and she makes a lot of really good points here, especially about the climax of the film and how deeply stupid a storytelling choice it is to have Rey be a Palpatine.BurtReynolds wrote:
