Maybe its a 1995 show and its getting released as ¨The¨ for a reason...i dont know.

There is a very cool article about the vinyl on Birth Movies Death that kinda explains it.

I think its just boring, but if its a 1995 NIN show, yeah im in.
basically this. remember the Year Zero ARG? It's possible this is something like that again.

Trent 'disappeared' after this Saigon show in-universe. Also it's canonically in the Twin Peaks universe somehow? If you recall they played as The Nine Inch Nails there as well.

I'm assuming you mean by NIN vs. his soundtrack work? because he's been plenty busy these last three years.

2016 Visions of Harmony
2016 Before the Flood
2016 Patriots Day
2017 The Black Ghiandola (short film)
2017 Banksy’s Walled Off Hotel
2017 The Vietnam War
2018 Mid90s
2018 Bird Box
2018 The Fourth Estate
2019 Waves
2019 Watchmen Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3
2020 Soul
TBA Mank

Compare that to actual NIN stuf and I see what you mean. I'm hoping there's a swing back towards NIN stuff as well, but you can't say he's not been busy.

2016 Not the Actual Events
2017 Add Violence
2018 Bad Witch

yeah, im not counting his soundtrack work. What he did with ¨NIN¨, because its basically him and Ross again at this point, have been pretty lackluster to me.

Those EP got 0 reply value for me, and i was exited when he announce those.

His soundtrack work is alright but i rarely listen to it.

Same year they toured with Bowie, albeit later.

I wouldn't personally pull Twin Peaks in to this but perhaps 'The Nine Inch Nails' is simply a moniker for the band on film. I love the fact that Trent gets to work with things he enjoys, that must be an amazing situation to be in. And I'm glad he is still producing music period.

That's right, that was the Bowie tour. I forgot about that.

the question mark was my feeling that it's a stupid thing to claim to be canonically Twin Peaks = Watchmen but they did.

[Archive Update 12/31/2019] With the Manhattan Project release from The Nine Inch Nails there has been a lot of traffic to the archive. The first update in over 12 years. Here is the final show performed in Saigon on 04/28/1995. The last time we saw Trent Reznor on stage after he aborted “Hurt” at the end of the show.

You can download the show on the archive in the link below. It is HIGHLY suggested that you listen to this with your EDS filter and that you check out the sample first in order to ensure that your filter works. You can read more about the show and the transfer details after the jump.

Here is a scan of the set list given to me via email by DM. Let’s hope that more The Nine Inch Nails music will be released. Or better yet, another show after all these years. We miss you on stage.

READ & DOWNLOAD: http://ninlive.com/shows/1995/19950428.html
with the track names on the vinyl never matching the tracks on the artwork I figure this is another show entirely. some are saying it's the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show.

so apparently it was just a lark to get the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show out there in high quality.

Notes:
This was sent to me by an anonymous source. Whoever you are, thank you! This is a raw soundboard from the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas performance. For the longest time, the NIN archive only had the webcast rip that was horribly compressed. Then, a few months ago, I was able to get Coluzzi’s Schoeps audience source. Now, this raw soundboard. The quality is amazing for this heavy hitting set.

Thank you for everyone for the continued support on the archive. Today (12/31/2019) marks the 11th birthday of the archive. I love talking Nine Inch Nails with everyone and the community is such a great one to be a part of. I have met a lot of great friends through this band and working on the site. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday season. And please, like I say on every single text file of the archive, if you know of any recordings that aren’t on the archive. I would love to add them. Any help would go a long way.

If you have any past recordings of Nine Inch Nails you would like to add to the live archive at http://www.ninlive.com, please get in contact with me at ryanj at reflectinginthechrome dot com!

from the person who posted all of this:
Or was I disappointed that the DAT tape was unlistenable and it seemed like a good time to release it conjunctively? Plus I hadn't done anything for the 10th year of the site because I have been so busy.

I was given 5 posters to give away with it as well from Saigon. Next week some time.
so just a combination of things that someone decided to make a little more fun.

No the KROQ show is in that link: http://www.ninlive.com/shows/2005/20051210.html

just download it and unzip it. There's the folder but there's also a single flac file that's labeled as the Saigon show. it's just a jumble of noise and what was actually on the DAT. maybe still part of the ARG but the guy at the website said he put the KROQ thing in there as well because otherwise it felt a little cheap.

I'm totally confused by what show is available here, but speaking of first shows, my first NIN show was December 1994 at MSG. We watched Manson and then we were told the show was postponed one night as Robin Finch had broke his finger pretty badly in a tour bus accident that day. The next night I believe his tech played most of the show for him. I was 14 and it was my first pit experience ever.
