The movie was Bombshell, which was little more than a fairly impressive display of makeup and costume design.
I loathe these places. Just let me have a beer in a normal theater.

I thought the acting in Little Women was good and I liked the metafictional twist but it was underwhelming in comparison to the hype. The cinematography was particularly bland.

Shaft (2019)
The Man Who Killed Don Quixote
Godzilla: King of the Monsters
Shaft was glorious. Not a good movie by any stretch but just so much fun seeing the Samuel L Jackson Shaft interact in a 2019 world. the plot? whatever. so many red herrings that it telegraphs where the story is heading. lots of dumb shots, like the asshole boss looking sad at the end for some reason?
MWKDQ was a film I'd love to watch with LV. it is the wildest fucking ride...it's just gorgeous to look at, and everyone is either acting their ass off (Driver) or having fun doing it (Skarsgård).
Godzilla had a scene that was in Star Wars ROS and that made me laugh. Total shit movie and the low-rent Olson twin was terrible. the movie ends with a jacked-up Godzilla and that scene was brilliant, just him stomping through and there's so much radioactivity that he's melting everything while he's walking? That shit should win awards. kudos to whomever thought that up. but then at the very end everyone but Kong shows up? right. ok. also the infrastructure damage in this film is pretty much a total collapse of civilization, right? because it sure looked like it.
the Godzilla vs. Kong movie is going to be a waste of time after this. I mean it was before this but especially now it's a waste of time.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
