Bill Maher is awesome.

About 15 years ago I was able to get backstage after a taping of his show. Wasn't really backstage was the "after" thing on the rooftop of the soundstage. Probably 100 people there? Was like a 30 minute thing. Maher shows up and I get to talk to him for a minute (really not much more). I told him he should book Ed has a guest or something like that. He didn't seem too impressed with the idea. I'm pretty sure they hadn't even met at that point. So basically I take all credit for them being BFF.

I met up with everyone at your after party, and when you realized I wasn’t at the show, you dryly asked, “Well, where were you… out having a sandwich?” A bunch of us sat, and I recall you ordering foie gras and me asking if you were sure you knew what you were ordering.
