Depends? I could see waiting to announce the tour to align with a new album/single announcement.
Normally big concerts around here seem to be announced nine months in advance. But what you are saying makes sense.

You relocating to the southeast? If so, welcome!
Going back to Florida. Florida Man is more appealing then New York State these days.

I think they had to announce the European dates first because of the number of festivals announcing their lineups.

This is short notice, even by US tour standards. 2010 was the shortest span between announcement and tour. This is the second shortest.

2006 was similar. Announced in the first half of March, tour started early May.

Assuming the dates work out I realized today that I can fly my whole fam down so I can attend three of the Cali shows and I have enough credit card rewards points for all our flights.

Now some might say I’m a fool to celebrate this because all it means is the CC company has raped me all these years but I have never paid a penny in interest or annual fee so I’m feeling pretty good about this.

Nah, yo. I've had before and after care for two kids on one travel card and everything else on a second for years. Haven't paid for a flight or hotel in a while.

Credit card companies charge two ways - interest to cardholders is one. The other is a fee at point of sale to merchants, who inevitably pass it on to the consumer. Enjoy those miles, we have earned them!

The only example I can think of are some gas stations that have a slightly lower price if you pay cash. Oh and then on the rare occasion there is a service fee that is disclosed, like on a paypal transaction or something. In my experience I think it’s always disclosed that there will be extra fee if you pay with CC.

But normally? Like a grocery store, restaurant, Amazon.com purchase - really?
