I'm listing those I've either beaten this year OR have played for 5+ hours. It's pretty silly for this list that a 40+ hour game or "live service" type of game is treated the same as one movie or one book.

I tried to brow beat B last year about audiobooks but he held firm. MD caved right away. I guess B stands for Baller.

We need to decide how to list "games as services" though.

In last year's thread, I only listed games that I beat. I don't think I abandoned any games last year. Xenoblade Chronicles X is going to be a 100+ hour investment. It'll only count as 1 this year.

I’ve played 100+ games for a few hundred hours total last year, and I seldom finish one player games. So would I then only have one or two games on my list in 2019 using your criteria? Seems strange.

It seems strange to me that you would play so many games for so little time each. To each his own.

My method is not the rule or the criteria. It was just my method.

I do play many games for just a little while, maybe because I don’t enjoy them that much, and more often because I get joy out of playing them for a short time. Not all games are made to be played endlessly. However, I’ve played a bunch of games for 5+ hours, some 10+, a couple 50+, and I think four games for 100+ hours, but none of the four because of a big one player campaign.

I understand. I think if I was going to list games, a 5+ hour rule would seem sensible.

For the most part, yes. I thought the ending was a beautiful mix of the serene and the intense. There are some sections I thought ran a bit long, and I would have liked to get a little more of Delphine Roux. Roth starts to reveal more of her later in the novel, and she started to become less static at that point. She felt pretty basic before the run up to the hoax. I read Portnoy's Complaint last year by Roth and thought this was a thousand times better.

Nice. I think all of that is fair. I haven't read PC yet. But this is one of my favorite of Roth's books that I have read. It's interesting to me how "underrated" it seems among Roth-philes.

I had high hopes for PC since it seems to be highly regarded. I got bored with it pretty quickly. The Human Stain was far more compelling, despite some of the (small) issues I may have with it.
