Well, anything alongside anything is a juxtaposition. I did mention 'totally weird' ones, and no, I don't think those tracks sound totally weird together. They're all basically different style of rock song, with similar production values. Britney Spears next to Bob Dylan next to Kraftwerk next to Metallica next to a baby farting then giggling would be weird juxtaposition.elliseamos wrote:so having mankind along side lukin, red mosquito, i'm open, and sometimes isn't "juxtaposition"?warehouse wrote:gotcha, i agree w/ thatharmless wrote:Not in a wacky, poppy or trippy way. mankind is obviously more radio friendly, but its not like its a pop song in the middle of a bunch of sludge metal songs.harmless wrote:Well, anything alongside anything is a juxtaposition. The Getaway sounds like it's a good rock song. Mike solo at the end?
Nobody can fucking describe My Father's Son. WTF is this song?
Nobody can describe Swallowed Whole either.
Do Pendulum and Yellow Moon have guitar solos? Curious about that.
And of course, Infallible is sounding like the crown jewel of the album. It sounded fucking great on a shitty quality soundcheck.

My interest in this track is fast diminishing, and the fear is setting in. However, it's track 3 right? That's interesting to me, because that's like laying your cards on the table really early.verb_to_trust wrote:BOB doesn't seem to have any idea what "cool" is......and Mike likes cock rock. A band like the Pixies, even Frank Black's solo stuff, is more eclectic than PJ ever were.elliseamos wrote:i don't think we could agree less... but i'll ponder for a fortnight and respond.harmless wrote:They're all basically different style of rock songelliseamos wrote:mankind ... lukin, red mosquito, i'm open, and sometimes

well red mosquito and lukin are rock songs. im not sure what you would call sometimes, i think thats part of the reason i love it so much. its still a 4/4 song based on 2 similar riffs. im open is just lame filler.elliseamos wrote:i don't think we could agree less... but i'll ponder for a fortnight and respond.harmless wrote:They're all basically different style of rock songelliseamos wrote:mankind ... lukin, red mosquito, i'm open, and sometimes

Fuckin BoB though, I don't trust him. Nor mike for that matter, hed say anything was awesome . Plus people keep saying "beautiful" and when that happens you usually get cheeseballs.LetMeSleep wrote:Yeah I nearly left Sirens off the list but any track that has so much hype (from Mike and Bo'B) does have me interested.stupidmop wrote:Cleverman wrote:LetMeSleep wrote:Sounds awesome. I'd swap sirens for my fathers son though, in terms of whats really intriguing me. Have no clue what that could sound like.
Leaving heres kinda 50s right? Ive always liked that and soldier of love. LtRP could be ok.
Swallowed whole seems to have a kinda better days hippy dippy earth song thing going on lyrically, but the corresponding picture seemed kinda dark.
It seems most people will just deem sleeping by myself as unnecessary. I hope is just that rather than awful though.

father's son and infallable seem intriguing. i dont mind the idea of a 50's pop rock song, i just hope it doesnt remind me of backspacer.

I would call PJ diverse, not eclectic.
