Re: 11th album rumors and speculation
Don’t get all the hate. Seems like a cool way to start the release of a new album.
Looking forward to what could very well be our last new Pearl Jam album rollout.
Hoping Gigaton isn't the album name also

Ice Waterfall
Svalbard, Norway, 2014.
The Nordaustlandet ice cap gushes high volumes of meltwater. Even though this was taken just 600 miles from the North Pole the temperature was in the high 60’s. The Arctic could be completely devoid of sea ice during the summer months in the next 10 to 20 years. This striking scene is a reminder of the fragility of this icy ecosystem.

I like that the photo was taken in Norway.

Seems wildly speculative, but that's something Ive want for years....We have heard from relatively reliable sources that the album is going to be a tad quieter than what we’re used to. There has been speculation amongst fans, and perhaps a little hope too, that with the current political situation in the United States, the new album was going to be a little more on the angry side, like what we saw with Avocado.

I'd be very interested in that too which means it's almost certainly not going to happen.

Re: 11th album rumors and speculation
So, we’ve seen the melting of the polar ice caps in reference to gigaton ( more than likely a song name ). The electrocardiograph is possibly the album reference - The electrocardiogram translates the heart's electrical activity into line tracings on paper. The spikes and dips in the line tracings are called waves. The P wave is a record of the electrical activity through the upper heart chambers (atria). We all know Ed loves waves. Who wants to bet that in the coming weeks we get more cryptic scavenger hunts pointing us at song titles on an album that is going to try and makes us more aware of a dying planet and that one of the is going to have something to do with the rainforest and another the ocean and hell, let’s throw Australia in there also?

First single, March 2018. Album title, January 2020. This is a 2022 release, folks.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Well, it comes down to the music, but calling attention to climate change is never a bad thing. At least these guys aren't Trump Republicans.

Thank god Pearl Jam made an album about climate change. I'd never have known of it's existence otherwise.

I had never seen that picture before and was not aware of the massive ice waterfalls...I knew this shit was melting and breaking off, but how fast and close was an eye opener. I also was not aware of the relationship between gigaton and climate, nor the Walmart initiative.Sgt. Crackpot wrote:Thank god Pearl Jam made an album about climate change. Thanks to Pearl Jam for identifying this problem, and more importantly, providing suggested solutions that can remedy the problem.
