Thank god Pearl Jam made an album about climate change. I'd never have known of it's existence otherwise.

I had never seen that picture before and was not aware of the massive ice waterfalls...I knew this shit was melting and breaking off, but how fast and close was an eye opener. I also was not aware of the relationship between gigaton and climate, nor the Walmart initiative.

per The Daily Worker music editorial, working title of the new album was ‘Gigantorb, the ‘B’ stands for Bargain’ but there were concerns about trademark infringement from Dr Nick Riviera so they begrudgingly changed it

I wish Pearl Jam had pushed the scavenger hunt aspect a bit more and drove this into the weekend, instead of something that could be found in 10 seconds by people with a map. A brewery here in Durham hides a bull every year around the city and the person who finds it wins burgers for a year. The clues are absolutely insane and people spend weeks hunting. That would have been a lot of fun at a global scale with clues in different places that people had to put together in order to find the album. Maybe even a real, vinyl test pressing or something.

BCBB had been tweeting to check the website “VERY carefully” – so I thought it meant that there might be a clue hidden on another page. I noticed Friday morning that they updated their tap list – adding cask conditioned Birra Rosa with Hallertau hops. Hmmm… I knew hallertau hops were a german hop so I was thinking about Guglhupf. I was already on my way there (I needed coffee anyways) when the first and only real clue was posted – a picture. I recognized it as the floor when you walk into the restaurant at BCBB. I change my coffee order to take it to-go from Guglhupf and got right back in my car. I sat at the bar at BCBB and was texting my friends about it. We all thought I needed to order the new beer and they might give me a clue or the bull or something else. I ordered the beer and nothing…. Ok I guess I’ll drink a morning beer - by the way it was delicious. I even weirded out the bartender by asking if he had anything else for me – nope, no bull. I sat there chatting and brainstorming trying to think of where else it might be and scanning the walls/ceiling. One my friends (CHLOE HEYYYY) texted me and suggested I follow the red line on the floor (also from the picture). The bartender had mentioned that they had put up the golden bull art the day prior - it just so happened to be near the end of the red line on the floor. When I looked at the walls – there was one picture that didn’t have a golden bull in it. It was 2 of the employees hiding behind a hop plant on the back patio and it was hanging sideways on the wall. At that point, I knew I was close! Seth was there and probably laughing at me for taking so long to realize.

​I was searching out back for about an hour. In drainage pipes, in leaves, in the space in between signs and the wall… I kept finding these tiny gold pieces of confetti and it was driving me insane. I knew I had to be close because the BCBB staff kept checking on me (wondering why I was so slow in finding it haha). I was crawling around on the ground when another golden bull hunter showed up – so I started to panic. I couldn’t give up! Luckily he was one of the winner’s from a previous year. Over on the side of the building, there was a seemingly abandoned planter. I moved some of the greenery to the side, revealing a stack of the plastic things they put little plants in to take home. No way… I picked them up and immediately gasped because it was heavier than it should have been – and I knew. I HAD FOUND THE GOLDEN BULL!!!!!!!! Actually a dream come true. THANK YOU to the Bull City Burger & Brewery family – I was SO excited to come in and get high fives from the team. Best day ever!!!!
