Last time I saw Mike, he was at our neighborhood coffee shop struggling to maintain his two sons’ behavior. And then they bounced into his Tesla Model X

so funny bc he was doing some phone/radio interview a few years back and interrupted to manage his son, and he used that typical ‘parent voice’ that’s part pedantic part half-pissed part mushy hovery.

i can only imagine his boys must be bouncing-off-the-walls type. i mean he’s a frickin professional guitar player and we’ve all seen him bouncing around like a banshee for hours on end. imagine a 5-year old version of that. hilarious. and props to him for not being nanny-dependent for a cup of coffee.

and hopefully at least one of his kids grows up to be a beast guitar player too

You know, I listened to Can't Deny Me again today. First time in a long time. And I really enjoyed it. Of course, I always liked the song more than most. But I put it on a playlist after Hitchhiker and Ole and before Let The Records Play and Johnny Guitar and it sounds great. Really fits and makes sense in that context.

Hmmmm.... someone on the pit very recently asked if BOB produced this thing. That dimi dude that seems to know stuff replied that he did not. If true, it’s all been worth it.

O'Brien produced Can't Deny Me which came out in 2018 so they were recording new material with him as recently as then. I'm not sure if I buy that they scrapped a bunch of already-completed sessions and started afresh with a new producer (or no producer) in 2019.
