Oh i loved how violent it was. Thats QT classic right there...also with Tex. He really goes wild with Tex.tragabigzanda wrote:I think all the Hollywood/denouement stuff is right on the money, but there's also an anti-PC sentiment to the ending that I loved just as much. Not at all a different view from what I said.VinylGuy wrote:Thats another different view from what LV said, and its a possible one sure. I agree. Specially with Di Caprio´s hate towards the hippies. And of course, Pitt killing his wife.tragabigzanda wrote:i think it's weird that no one else got that from this movie; i felt that was so obvious, like with every beatdown delivered by Pitt, QT was flipping the bird to PC police, #MeToo, etc. Felt dangerous in a way that none of his films since Pulp Fiction had felt to me.theplatypus wrote:Uhhhhhtragabigzanda wrote:I think all the Hollywood/denouement stuff is right on the money, but there's also an anti-PC sentiment to the ending that I loved just as much. Re: Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood
The ending didn't bother me, but if it was just Pitt and DiCaprio wondering through Hollywood I would have been fine with it, too. He's only rewrote history once before, right? So I don't see why I would be tired of it.

It's a sustained defense of classic depictions of masculinity and femininity throughout. The hippies are made up of bitchy women and their soyboy cuck allies. And yeah it's glorious when they get utterly annihilated.

Re: Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood
What is actually worth fighting against in the PC/MeToo movements? I see this sentiment all the time, and it's really dumb. "Yeah man, fuck these women for...talking about how they want justice for being assaulted. Not in MY country!" Especially in a movie about essentially retconning the murder of Sharon fucking Tate???
I honestly struggle to figure out what the fuck some of yall are talking about.
