Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

Were the 2010s a good decade for music?

Pretty much all of my favorite albums of the last ten years are by women or women led groups:

Everything by The Mynabirds, Courtney Barnett, St Vincent, Laura Marling, Fiona Apple, Lucy Dacus, Hop Along, Middle Kids...

Sound And Fury by SS and Let England Shake by PJH are two others I need to add. Great pulls, guys.

I see trag picked the wrong Yo La Tengo album. Fade is the correct answer. I'm also taking MBDTF over Yeezus if forced to chose just one.

No one has mentioned it yet, but off the top of my head, my favorite from the 10s might actually be Circuital. It’s not MMJ’s best album but it’s really damn good. I have to look in more carefully, but that’s my immediate instinct pick.

that album was such a letdown for me. I really liked the waterfall though, and would rank it way higher on my list of mmj albums.

I’ve not listened to it! I should though, they recorded that one with John McEntire. Thanks for the reminder verb.

I really like The Waterfall, but for me it does drag at points. Circuital, for me, possibly only struggles at the end, and even there I came to appreciate the last few songs more having seen them live.

I am finding it really hard to cut my list down to a reasonable number, or to properly rank the ones that I have. There were a lot of albums I loved deeply during this period.

Listen to Robert Finley’s Goin’ Platinum. That would make my list for sure. That voice is just awesome.

Here's 50 in no particular order other than what generally came to mind and looking back at my best of lists throughout the decade. Though those first ten would make a really solid top ten, I think. Man, the top 10 of the 90's would be an excruciatingly difficult exercise for me.
