Even if it didn’t sound terrible (which it does), Trevorrow can’t direct worth a damn so it would suck regardless

First of all that cake off reddit. So...

But. Wow. It’s incredible and sad seeing formerly respected and legitimate outlets and publications fall so far the last couple of years.
A central tenet of journalism is to check your sources and double and triple check your facts. For your own good and your own reputation.

Seems that has been abandoned by very many big publishing brands the past few years especially when it relates to Star Wars. Are these outlets big and small that desperate for clicks?

Yknow how you know this is bullshit made up by some reddit asshole?
Its complete fan fiction and mining the unused concepts from the end of ROTJ
I would have loved to see this. Most hardcore fans would. That’s how you know it’s bullshit.

Also no mention of leia and treverow and his script were dumped because he couldn’t rewrite around leia as Carrie had passed.

Real or not, I like how it keeps the focus on Kylo as supreme leader and sole dark side threat. No Palpatine puppet-mastery going on.

It would improve TLJ in the fact that TLJ would be seen as Kylo's final "test' to become the supreme leader and move fully to the dark side.

durdencommatyler wrote:One of my favorite elements of Star Wars is the Serial Adventure aspect. I like that it starts with Episode IV for example and we jump straight into the action. I like the crawl precisely because it's meant to catch you up on what you've missed since you've been away -- or in case you haven't seen the previous episodes. It's for those reasons that I think the opening crawl of TROS and Palpatine being back bother me a lot less than others.

I do wish it was handled better and there's no reason that it couldn't have been. But what is understandably a big issue for some is a very minor thing for me.
I agree with you on the crawl. Removing my dislike of the Palpatine return, I really like the crawl. It tells you what you need to know, fills in the gaps (like Ep IV) and jump straight into the action. It feels like the serial adventure you refer to.

I think it’s the most true to George’s original intention crawl.
It feels pulpy and exactly like a Flash Gordon episode

i think that alleged treverrow story is so much better. that sounds great and far more effectively builds off the first two movies in a consistent way

Stip. it’s fan fiction.
It’s also beat for beat the other ending for return of the Jedi. Doubt me look up rinzlers making of ROTJ book.

Force ghost obi wan and yoda turn up to help Luke against Palpatine.

It’s bullshit. I would love to have seen it too but it robs Rey of her purpose and agency (hehe) if ghosts are doing it for her

To want an improved plot in TROS is to not understand the joy of TROS at all
