I don't think I've heard my wife snort-laugh before, but she sure did when I told her that Pearl Jam's upcoming single is "Dance of the Clairvoyants."

Yeah that name is worrisome

The song may yet be terrible but I really like the title.

the song title is one of the main things giving me hope b/c it's so unlike Pearl Jam.

The title is super-proggy. Like it would be a Marillion track or something. What with the rumoured synths, and the need for a 7" edit version maybe this IS gonna be Pearl Jam's prog moment.

And I for one welcome our prog overlords.

I was thinking RHCP. Didn't they have a song called Monarchy of Roses? Goofy.

It's not related to the song at all but the War of the Roses was fought in regards to a monarchy.

better question is what do those people who have had accounts since 2013 but only post for new albums think. it's much like visiting a land-locked tide pool once every seven years and being surprised at the mutations that have taken place.

better question is what do those people who have had accounts since 2013 but only post for new albums think. it's much like visiting a land-locked tide pool once every seven years and being surprised at the mutations that have taken place.

I'd be one of those. The thing I always notice most is the increase in ratio of pessimists to optimists. There are always the die-hards that keep an open mind but from that list the last time I was in here the number of pessimists have increased.

This thread is moving faster than I can keep up. Good news is I am still looking forward to this release and got at least 2 good puns in over the last 20 pages or so since we got Gigaton as the title.

FYI, I am legit thrown for a loop by the album title and artwork - it is really nothing like they have done before, and looks very prog (not to mention the title of the single to me suggests Rush or something). I don’t think we’ll get a prog album, but this is such that I don’t know what to expect, which excites me to no end. Here’s to hoping that I hear this single and then this album, and it takes me months to wrap my brain around it. I don’t need or want immediate satisfaction from this album. I need to want to live inside it for a while.
