Democrats across the country will soon find themselves with a newfound appreciation for the virtues of one Mike Bloomberg. …
Bloomberg is going to spend an astronomical amount of money on this race. Probably at least $1 billion. Maybe twice that. Possibly even more. Numbers like that upend every model of every presidential race in history. He can buy every news adjacency on cable and local television stations from now until November and not make a dent in his net worth. …
If Democrats nominate anyone besides Bloomberg, they will be outspent in the general election by 2 to 1 or even 3 to 1. If they nominate Bloomberg, he will outspend Trump at least 5 to 1 and dramatically improve the party’s chances of winning seats at every level of governance.

Warren could gain from Bernie supporters defecting because of the alleged sexism of someone pointing out that sexism exists

The best thing to come out of last night was further exposing Bernie as a useful idiot to get progressives to support the DNC (start the countdown until Tulsi is his VP pick). Nice of Liz to show up even if it’s probably too late.

What CNN and Warren pulled on Bernie last night was absolutely unconscionable. Would never vote for her in a million years after that stunt.

What did she do?
Bear in mind a lot of people don’t like Bernie and will like whatever it was she did

Propagated an extremely obvious lie (that no one but she can corroborate) about Bernie saying something sexist in order to ratfuck him out of the nomination.dimejinky99 wrote:LoathedVermin72 wrote:What CNN and Warren pulled on Bernie last night was absolutely unconscionable. i like klobuchar. she seems like a straight shooter that uses examples of work she's done rather than political rhetoric. i don't think she's gonna get the nomination, but i like her. i didn't even know who she was prior to the 2020 run, but what little i've seen / heard from her, i like.Bi_3 wrote:tragabigzanda wrote:*constant low-level rage and narcissism96583UP wrote:really bad makeup jobdoug rr wrote:klobuchar looks different tonight

This isn't true at all, dime. The people that don't like Bernie are the same people that don't like Warren because they hate progressives. Re: Election 2020
Nothing really changed for me. One of the basic rules of dropping oppo is that it not be traceable back to you. Even mayoral campaigns do this without fucking it up. The idea that Warren’s campaign would leak a story that obviously points back to her and puts her own honesty to question is dumb.
I think Warren believes that’s the point Bernie was making, and she’s answering honestly to that.
I think Bernie was either trying to make a different point or doesn’t remember, or whatever, and is answering honestly to that.
I don’t think there’s anything sexist to asking demographic impact questions about a candidate’s gender. We’ve been discussing JFK’s Catholicism for like 60 years. Every facet of a candidate’s makeup is relevant to the election.
I think the only candidates who have any path to benefit from this whole thing are named Biden and Buttigieg, who both need to ensure that progressive voters don’t rally to each other’s cause when it comes down to just Bernie or Warren.
I therefore think that any supporter of either candidate that allows this to rile them up is a useful idiot for whichever moderate candidate pulled this trigger.
I think CNN’s lust for drama ratings was on full display last night, right down to their first two questions. So much of how they guided the discussion at every turn was built to encourage infighting, rather than pull the nuances of each candidate’s perspective out for viewing. So of course they tried to yank this frayed nerve in the most crass way possible.

Re: Election 2020
I hate Bernie but am not against Warren. If she colluded with CNN, then that's a different story, but my guess is that CNN was just not trying to embarrass themselves since they got credit for breaking the news of the whole "women can't win" nothingburger.E.H. Evidence A for why I don’t believe Warren’s campaign would leak a story like this.dimejinky99 wrote:Fucking Indian giver. Gives it away then takes it back.
Even in the best circumstances, you never plant a story that by necessity pits your candidate’s perceived authenticity against someone else’s, because it is disastrously bad campaigning to go around encouraging people to ponder your candidate’s authenticity as a QUESTION. People tend to downgrade authenticity assumptions about a candidate ANY time it comes up.
It’s infinitely worse when your candidate has a moment in their history like the DNA mess.
Whoever leaked this knew it would re-ignite Warren‘s credibility problem and potentially sink her once and for all, while also allowing them to try cynically utilizing metoo against Bernie.

Everyone’s blaming CNN but I’m pretty sure it was the Des Moines Register reporter who asked that question.
I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd.
