Evidence A for why I don’t believe Warren’s campaign would leak a story like this.

Even in the best circumstances, you never plant a story that by necessity pits your candidate’s perceived authenticity against someone else’s, because it is disastrously bad campaigning to go around encouraging people to ponder your candidate’s authenticity as a QUESTION. People tend to downgrade authenticity assumptions about a candidate ANY time it comes up.

It’s infinitely worse when your candidate has a moment in their history like the DNA mess.

Whoever leaked this knew it would re-ignite Warren‘s credibility problem and potentially sink her once and for all, while also allowing them to try cynically utilizing metoo against Bernie.

There’s bad actors all over this out to cause as much problems for every candidate that isn’t trump. That much is obvious.

Trump has nothing to do with this. This is 100% the democratic establishment trying to kneecap Sanders again.

Youre right but it's slightly more complicated. For example, CNN clearly loved the WWF showdown angle. It's makes for GREAT TV!!

Watching the Bernie Bros melting down at CNN like the MAGA assclowns have been doing for years is really livening up the day. Mainly because you know he said it, but it's getting taken completely out of context the cause drama, because in context it's not sexist at all (the opposite in fact). He should have just said it was a comment about the sexism that pervades large parts of the elctorate and pointed out what he has done to fight that. But no. SO scared of the third wavers taht it must be denied at all costs.

Bernie fans continue to be an enormous drag on his ability to appeal to the broader party. I had an extended conversation with a local organizer for him a few weeks ago that involved nothing but me trying to make him see the irony in his insistence that, since Bernie Bros won’t show up to vote for anybody else, the broader Democratic population has an obligation to fall in line with his support. For people to support their own candidate of preference over Bernie, he said, was only about them making the primary a “purity test.”

It was like an hour of “if you don’t support Bernie, then you’re helping Trump win by getting caught up in a partyline purity test.”

“Getting caught up in purity tests is bad.”

“Yes!”

“So you’ll support a different candidate, if a different candidate gets the nod?”

“No way. If it’s not Bernie, I’m out.”

“But that’s not YOU getting caught up in a purity test?”

“How could it be? Bernie should win.”

Repeat.

Warren isn't known for her brilliant campaigning. Simple stupidity could explain why her campaign leaked it. They aren't playing 4D chess.

People can say what they want about the Bernie Bros and/or Sanders himself, but the Dem primaries of 2016 and 2020 so far have been more tame/cordial than Obama vs Hillary 2008, and at least the last 3 GOP primaries. Everyone has their perspective. The Boomers who lost their minds when Obama took 2008 from Hillary were as bad as anything today, they just didn't have the social media platforms to broadcast it 24-7 to everyone. I think there is a distinction between Bernie Bros (who are annoying) and Bernie fans.

Also, I don't know if Warren leaked the "sexism" story or not, but if it was a private meeting then she either told someone at some point, or a staffer leaked it to someone at some point. How else does it get out? Her campaign is the source no matter who leaked it.

This is one of the things that drives me so bonkers about Bernie people. Dethroning trump is far, far, far more important than electing Bernie.

I just don't understand how people can still think that centrism or compromise makes one more electable after all that's happened globally in the last few years. This isn't the 1990s. That's one of the least popular platforms in existence right now.

Yeah, that a woman can’t win the election.
