Well Low Light is good in spite of its unnecessarily weird time signature

I'd take Low Light part 3 over Sirens.
None of these songs are very good.
I'd like to give you a hug

What a bizarre take. I’ve never heard anyone mention the use of an unusual time signature as a pejorative.

I like Low Light a lot but Yellow Moon is one of my favorite PJ songs.

For me, YM is the only song on LB that ranks among their best music.

"Low Light" is just a little too high-brow for the FUCKING IDIOTS that post here.

before a lot of you were even born, there was a time after yield that lowlight was never played. in fact, if i recall, it wasn't played live until the riot act tour (outside of a bridge school benefit). everyone wanted low light. and then they played it. and played it. and played it. and like every song that like that, people got sick of it. the full-circled life of a pearl jam fan.

Low Light is in 3/4 (the second most common time signature used aka "waltz"). Then, at the end of each measure on the verse, it's in 4/4.

It just sounds weird because the change makes it sound like there's an extra beat coming from nowhere. However, there is nothing weird or uncommon about the time signatures in the song.

Even though the time signatures are common, you could say that alternating between 3/4 and 4/4 like that is pretty uncommon. Certainly is for Pearl Jam. I love how it is used in "Low Light," it is a momentarily disorienting effect that perfectly complements the song's breeziness.
