It's not a million miles away from some of the sounds on Infallible. Not sure who played that, or if it's programming for Matt or something.bluestate wrote:Drum and bass could definitely be Matt and Jeff but I can't imagine anyone in the band (besides maybe Matt) playing that synth part. No way that's Boom.

This is honestly and truly just about the best case scenario for how a 2020 Pearl Jam single might start, as far as I’m concerned. It sounds like it came from an idea, unhindered by any concerns about what you dipshits want from the band and without reference to the catalog past. I’ll be bummed if it turns out not to be real.evenslow wrote:it's like looking death in the eye.Strat wrote:This post terrifies me.McParadigm wrote:I’m all in

Yes. Having a really hard time imagining they’re still capable of that. If it is, best case scenario whether I actually really get into the song or not.McParadigm wrote:This is honestly and truly just about the best case scenario for how a 2020 Pearl Jam single might start, as far as I’m concerned. Really want to hear this thing now. Mind will be blown even if that snippet is actually them. Might be some life left in this thing after all.

It's not like this guy just happened to find this clip anywhere, the Bill Simmons connection is a legit hint.Chris_H_2 wrote:So you guys really are believing some random nut job with nothing but time on her or his hands?
Unless you are referring to Bill Simmons as the random nut job?

Hopeful because it’s so different from what I would expect but just can’t get my mind around it being them. You guys more familiar with Matt and Jeff’s sound getting me intrigued. Any specific tunes by those guys you see similarities with? Thanks.
Would be very cool if they pulled something off going in that direction at this point.

Re: Dance Of The Clairvoyants
As a somewhat regular listener of his podcasts I do think his introduction is mysterious/cagey enough to be new PJ music.bluestate wrote:It's not like this guy just happened to find this clip anywhere, the Bill Simmons connection is a legit hint.Chris_H_2 wrote:So you guys really are believing some random nut job with nothing but time on her or his hands?
