Right?!

I'm guessing because of the proximity to Bale, there will be zero growl. Ben can't do it without drawing the comparison. He's going to want to take it in a different direction, I'd wager.

Based on Ben's body of work and persona it seems justified to be a little concerned by his casting but that said I'm hoping he knocks it out of the park. At least he's a legit fan of the medium. Nothing is more annoying then when directors and actors go out of their way to say they aren't fans of the source material.

I think the Ben bashing is ridiculous, this man has spent years changing what was some pretty bad acting and movies. I think it kinda started with surviving christmas, that shit was hysterical. He then did the hollywoodland film which he was very good in. Gone Baby Gone was fantastic, the town, argo. I think his turn as a director will help him with acting as Batman. I don't think he has come this far to fuck it up.

not that I know anything about the upcoming batman movie, but I rather liked Affleck in The Town.

Affleck seems to be great int he roles suited for him, which not surprisingly, are usually written by him.

Am i wrong?

It's not that he lacks talent, i just think he may be a one trick pony.

he's been pretty bad in the few other films I've seen him in other than Good Will Hunting, I agree in that he does better with his own comfort zone as an actor. I think i enjoy his perfect portrayals of a Boston townie, probably. the two movies I mention are probably very similar roles, but he does them so well - I dunno- I don't love Affleck as an actor, but I don't mind pointing out that he's not nearly as 'bad' an actor as I once thought. when he does have the right role, it works very well, I don't have to think to myself - oh, it's Ben Affleck acting - i can just watch the movie

also, Springsteen isn't a one trick pony to me - he's just a traditional rock and roll musician.

I think it was some sort of reference to the Bruce song from The Wrestler-- "if you've ever seen a one-trick pony then you've seen me."

ah, didn't see The Wrestler, but admit, I assumed he was saying Springsteen's music was one trick pony-ish.

Filming in Detroit right now.

I've never done this, but I'm going to go up and see what's going on.

Hey rc, how true is it, from the designs you saw, that this Batman costume is less armor-y and more cloth, like in the comics?

I heard someone say it had a Jim Lee vibe.

I also heard speculation that the costume was based on Bat's suit from Noel.

Which could be pretty cool, if true.

In a post Nolan universe suddenly the idea of just wearing tights instead of armor seems really dumb.

Welp, catching up on podcasts this morning. Apparently Kevin Smith has seen the costume. This is from Hollywood Babble-On:

I wonder if won't just be simpler. And blue and grey. Maybe that's all there is to this.

And rumors abound about Flash, Wonder Woman and even Adam Driver as Nightwing! Suddenly it's gone from Batman vs Superman to a JLA movie. Just like that.
