SafeTix
I researched this for about an hour and couldn't find a clear answer. I've read that you can email a SafeTix ticket to a friend so there is no waiting outside for the other person.
This is what Ticketmaster says.
However pj email and links say that the ticket purchaser has to enter the venue with the guests. Wtf is the truth?

Re: SafeTix
Ticketmaster also says that when you email a SafeTix to a friend they have to have the TM app so that they will have the same 15-second interval re-newing bar code.
So why is PJ saying that the ticket purchaser must enter the venue with the guests? Could they be wrong

Re: SafeTix
SafeTix has the ability to transfer a ticket. That ability can be disabled, which is what Pearl Jam has done except in NY and CO.

Oh, probably because it would defeat ten club rules.Spark wrote:SafeTix has the ability to transfer a ticket. That ability can be disabled, which is what Pearl Jam has done except in NY and CO.
Thanks
But it seems that those same tickets are still eligible for the fan to fan exchange which is strange. You can sell to a stranger but not your brother...I'm assuming you can't choose who gets your tickets in a fan to fan exchange right? Does anyone know?

Re: SafeTix
I had another question that I couldn't find the answer to....when one goes to the bathroom, one has to take the ticket purchaser's phone with them so they can get back to their seat ?

The TM guy that was interviewed on the Sirius channel said that once the bar code is scanned upon entry, screenshots can be sent to the primary ticket holder's guest and that can get them back to their seat/section.

Re: SafeTix
Doesn’t that defeat the whole purpose of refreshing barcodes? Seat jumpers rejoice!Jessica Fletcher wrote:The TM guy that was interviewed on the Sirius channel said that once the bar code is scanned upon entry, screenshots can be sent to the primary ticket holder's guest and that can get them back to their seat/section.

Re: SafeTix
The way I understand it, the barcode refreshing happens until you are scanned into the venue. No one is scanning your phone once you're in. The ushers that are guarding the entrance to a section are just looking at your phone to see your section. As I type this I realize that it would be very easy to get your buddy into your section or onto the floor.CopperTom wrote:Doesn’t that defeat the whole purpose of refreshing barcodes? What? You go to your seat once you show your ticket. Then you get up and go to the bathrooms, get concessions, etc. and go back to your seat. They don't check your ticket every time you go back to your seat. I've never had that happen at any event

I've definitely been to shows when they've checked your ticket to get down to the floor or the closer sections to make sure you weren't just some jackass with nosebleeds.

If you are worried about that, just check in with an usher on your way to the bathroom
