1917

I liked it. Some of the stuff in the middle dragged, but there were some great shots. I thought the "one take" thing would feel too gimmicky, but it gave it an interesting surreal quality.

Midsommar was fine. It’s nothing new. It’s amazing how wildly people will overrate a largely unremarkable horror movie if you dress it up in arty trappings

The pacing is very novelistic, but I kinda felt the runtime was eventually undermined when the film betrayed its low budget; after a while, one realizes the film is no longer moving to any new locations or ideas, and it begins to feel very small and contained despite its sprawling length.

Hereditary is a complete joke. This was definitely better than that but still nothing special.

It didn't feel long to me, just flat and straightforward and insipid. At least Hereditary had a few moments that shook me a little.
