Backspacer felt like an attempt at something new. "Trim the fat". Short and punchy pop numbers with a new approach.

Lightning Bolt felt like an uninspired vision of trying to reclaim what made pearl jam great. Nothing new. Nothing exciting.

Really pissed of that I`ve been billed TWICE for the albums Pre-Order

I cancelled mine. It was a breeze and I can always Prime that shit if the album is somehow good. I simply said I "made a mistake" by preordering the album and poof, refund.

I already e-mailed them, and they said that the problem would be solved and I wouldn`t be billed twice.
I`m still being billed twice.

So, wonder if there really is a scrapped album and what level of completion it is at?

Be interesting to know what the story is behind CDM, the time from then until now with Gigaton, and why the huge delay, especially if it's been in the can a while.

I can imagine Cornell's death had a lot to do with the apparent struggles.

Lightning bolt is like their collapse into now - an album full of Pearl Jam songs that, with a few exceptions, sound and feel like copies of archetypes - Pearl Jam once removed. and I say that as a fan of both albums (and I think LB would be much better received with either warmer and more open production, or something much dirtier - but something that indicated a choice was made) But for REM it was a sign that they were done. Hopefully for pj it was a sign to try something new.
