I just listened to can't deny me and if gigaton isnt the absolute opposite, then its doomed.

One of the main problems with CDM, and a lot of latter day PJ songs (Let The Records Play being another prime example), is the vocal melody that Eddie has written. I remember someone describing LTRP chorus melody sounding like a gameshow theme and that really stuck with me. And of course CDM sounds like Beach Boys' Kokomo.

There's a cheesiness to the melodies. They're overly simplistic. Almost like nursery rhymes. I dunno if it's laziness or whatever, but it's a bad habit to pick up this late into his career.
