What's interesting about it

Asking sincerely, as to me it sounds like a bog-standard attempt at funk guitar
They hit a little funk riff (a classic prince if you will) at the end of it, but up until the last bit it sounds rather....angular and dark? I also like the tone and rhythm.

Also, that being said, its just a small clip and i said MOST INTERESTING in over a decade. The last 2.5 pearl jam albums have been filled with very uninteresting guitar parts.
Agreed on all this.
certain parts of that guitar tone remind me of binaural (insignificance maybe?).

That’ll eat up 22 or so minutes over the next 8 hours.

I fucking like it. Let's hope that's not the best part of the track.

My simple brain with no musical background is having a hard time figuring out how they go from the Simmons clip to that clip in the same song, so I'm very intrigued.

The guitar part and tone definitely brings to made that post-punk melding with funk vibe of Gang of Four, etc.:

There's probably a call-and-response for the live show

I hear it as the verse, with the base line setting the vocal melody.

I'm getting a Raindance Maggy vibe here... sounds great with headphones.

More to the point, it sounds like something our "modern" rock station might actually play (which I think is cool at this point)!

The tone sure but as far as the riff I'm getting more INXS "Suicide Blonde" vibes
