Nice guitar riff - Nice Bass, I wonder how this matches up with the Simmons clip.
I guess I'm staying up until Midnight now...

I'm sorry, this can't be any worse than Fixer or MYM. At the very least it'll be different, which in itself is better than Fixer/MYM.

I have the horrible feeling that Ed doesn't have the chops to bring this home. So far it sounds pretty cool, but then Ed's gonna start warbling over the top and the realisation will come to pass that they're trying too hard to sound like something that just doesn't come organically to them (well Ed)

I would say that the Jamily and the more musically-exposed people here on RM will have very different opinions on what constitutes "trippy AF"

That could be interesting. They don't have anything all that recent that sounds like that, which is a good thing (the infallible verses are the closest I can think of). This will come down to whether or not Eddie can bring something similarly funky or off kilter to his performance to make it fit. It's been a long time since he needed to write a part for a song that felt like that.

Bring some kind of falsetto and commit to the funky/weirdness.

Was literally just thinking an Eddie falsetto (without the "heee heee's") would be quite interesting to the little we've heard so far......

I think his lower register is a better choice but we’ll find out soon enough.

I'm going to have to hit the hay in the UK. I recall getting up at 4am to listen to WWS but those days are over for me. Enjoy the listen for those staying up.
