Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
This is genuinely new territory for them. I really can't think of any prior song that leads into this

Wow, that was something else. I liked the song itself. Not sure about some of the first two verses of Ed growling but after that I very much enjoyed the groove.

Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
my very first thoughts...
I cringed a littttle bit hearing Ed at first...
But I think I really like that chorus, it's pretty nice.
They've never done a song like this, I wonder why they picked it as a first single? Maybe this was a track that signaled the change to move from the previous stuff (CDM) and start a new.
Time to process that some more...

the last two minutes of this is more interesting than anything off the last three records.

Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
First impression: not awful I suppose, I like the moment when Ed gets all grunty right before the first chorus, but then said chorus is absolute horseshit.
Yeah a couple interesting moments but then it goes nowhere and becomes tedious

The Ed growling was great. And Mike's little diddy in that mini bridge.

This is so much better than I thought it would be. That last 2:00 is really cool on first listen. Ed is performing within his range and expanding his variety of delivery. And this is an exciting direction for a new sound. I’m very excited and end encouraged after two listens.

Ed sounds within his limits, which was my biggest fear. This suggests that maybe, just maybe, they've really gone for something different. Eleven more songs still needed to support that, but, um, yeah, I'll go along for the ride.

I think he sounds really good. It’s in his range, and he doesn’t fill it up with breathy shit.

Oh my god. This is the band they should have been for the last 10 years. WTF.
Ed is so great here. Super creative and invested.
